IMAP

Guiding you through a successful IMAP setup.

IMAP

IMAP can be used to automate Nike login device verifications and automatically enter Amex SafeKey codes during payments. To setup IMAP with Gmail follow these steps, if you don't want to utilize a Gmail account, you can just skip to Step 4 and Google your server:port combination.

Step 1: Login to Gmail.

Log into your primary Gmail account and go to "Google Security". Click here for the direct link: https://myaccount.google.com/security.

Step 2: Setup 2-Step Verification.

For you to make use of IMAP you will need to have a 2-Step Verification setup, once you do that, or if you already have that setup, you can click on it.

2-Step Verification

Step 3: App password.

Once you've opened the 2-Step Verification page, scroll down to the bottom and click on "App passwords". Click here for the direct link: https://myaccount.google.com/signinoptions/two-step-verification.

App passwords

When you're on this page, under "Select app", choose the option labeled "Other (Custom name)". You'll need to type a name here; use the word "Polaris".

Step 1

Now click on "Generate".

Step 2

You'll now see a yellow box containing a 16-character password. Make sure you copy this password and save it in a secure location (you can also add it to your support ticket for reference). This is the app password you'll need to enter in Polaris settings.

Step 3

Step 4: IMAP setup.

Go into Polaris settings, and follow this format: "email:password:server:port".

For our example, it is: "[email protected]:abcdefghijklmnop:imap.gmail.com:993". Click "Save changes" and now you're done!
